Hello

If you are claimed by your parents as a dependent they claim the 1098T. You need to make certain you mark on your return too that you are being claimed.

You are required to click a positive rating if I am to be credited with the response.
You have to actively click on a rating and click submit. Smiley Faces or Stars.

It's not possible for me to do it instead and just have my parents claim me?
Expert:  Robin D. replied 1 year ago.

NO

If you are claimed as a dependent you are not allowed to claim that.

The IRS will remove the amount and I doubt TurboTax system will even accept it because you must mark that you are being claimed or mess up your parent filing their return.
