You use a dwelling unit as a home during the tax year if you use it for personal purposes more than the greater of:

  1. 14 days, or

  2. 10% of the total days it is rented to others at a fair rental price.

It depends on how many days the condo is rented in a year to others. The owner(s) cannot use it more than 10% of the time.

I know rating takes an additional step and I truly appreciate it when you take the extra time!
