My employer has started Aflac insurance premiums deductions

Customer Question

My employer has started Aflac insurance premiums deductions in 2015. I now owe $825 in federal taxes when in previous years I had a refund How can I make sure they've reported my W2 correctl
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: On my 2015 W2, Box 1 amount is $43515 and federal taxes taken out is only 4229. Box 5 is $47444. My 401k is $3930.00. My aflac pre-tax $2,200. It doesn't make sense to me if my aflac premiums are pre-taxed, then why am I owing $800+. I should just as well do the deductions post tax instead. It wasn't a benefit to me to do it pre-tax.
JA: OK got it. Last thing — Tax Professionals generally expect a deposit of about $32 to help with your type of question (you only pay if satisfied). I do have more Pre-tax deductions in 2015, but to get back $100 a year in federal tax, then owe $825.00 in federal taxes for 2015, does not make sense to me. I was wondering if they made a mistake and didn't take out enough taxes in 2015.(Last Paycheck Info.)Fed Taxable Income 1,457.95
