The HAPPY Bill (the Humanity and Pets Partnered Through the Years Act was introduced - and if approved - it would allow a new itemized deduction for "qualified pet care expenses" up to $3500 a year.

So far - your only option to deduct expenses related to your dogs - as medical expenses for the costs of buying, training, and maintaining a guide dog or other service animal to assist a visually impaired or hearing-impaired person, or a person with other physical disabilities.
