I am in the process of buying a cabin that has associated membership

Resolved Question:

I am in the process of buying a cabin that has associated membership maintenance fees and five year license renewal fees associated with the ownership. I want to make sure these fees are tax deductible. Would I need to set up a company, like an LLC, to be able to deduct these expenses?

Hi and welcome to JustAnswer:

Whether you set up an LLC or not, if the cabin is for personal use, the only allowed deductions would be mortgage interest if this is your second home and real estate taxes.
