Can a Convicted Felon be a Tax Consultant/tax preparer? I recently discovered my Tax Consultant is a Convicted Felon and does Audits with the IRS. Florida here.

Dear Bryan,

There doesn't appear to be a Federal restriction against convicted felons being tax preparers. If someone is convicted of tax fraud, his sentence usually contains a restriction against preparing tax returns, but otherwise....
