how does spousal support affect social security disability payments

Resolved Question:

my daughter is collecting social security disability and in the process of finalizing a marital settlement.
As a resultot his she will be receiving spousal support- how does this affect her social security disability payments.

Maintenance support (alimony) will not considered earned income and will not affect social security disability income,

however, alimony is taxable income and depending on other taxable income may trigger that SSD income will be partly taxable.

The simple test - assuming she is single - if all annual taxable income plus 50% of SSD income is less than $25,000 - SSD income will not be taxable.
