Customer: Hi. I closed the door in my Subaru Outback from the inside with car running and now I can’t open it from outside. What can I do to open the door?
JA: Hi there. The Subaru Mechanic will know what to do about your door. Do you have any other details that could be helpful?
Customer: I tried to open it manually also and can’t do it also
JA: Is there anything else the Subaru Outback Mechanic should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: no, I don’t think so

Nice to meet you Justyna.

Just to make sure i fully understand the issue, the vehicle is locked with the engine running. Doors can't be opened. Would that be correct ?

Customer
I pushed the lock key before I left the car

Thank you for confirming the issue. Are the keys inside the vehicle or you have them with you ?

Customer
I have them, but cannot open the door, tied manually already

The lock cylinder on the driver door should unlock the door. Did you try it ?

Customer
Lock cylinder?
Customer
That didn't work
Customer
It won't allow me to open the door

Yes, on the exterior handle, you should see a plastic cap that be removed. The FOB has a metal key inserted in it depending on the year model. Would you have a picture of the door handle and the vehicle key ?

Are you still there Justyna ?

If the metal key inserted in the FOB can't open the driver door by the cylinder lock under the handle cap, the remaining solution would be to contact a towing company to get the door opened. They will be able to pull the inside handle from the outside of the vehicle using a lock-out kit. Pulling the interior handle will automatically unlock the driver door.
