VerifiedGood Afternoon, my name is ***** ***** ill be helping you, so sorry to hear about the issues here on the Subaru, i know how frustrating it can be to deal with engine issues especially if we just bought the car. Now if we end up doing a rebuild the right way (quality bearings, machining the crank, block and heads) its almost always more expensive than just buying a good, similar mileage engine and swapping it in, Let alone more convenient and time efficient. You could shop around for parts and pick up some good deals here and there but the rebuild would take weeks and we would likely only save a few hundred , if that. In my experience it almost always makes more sense to go with a used engine versus trying to rebuild it. Let me know what we find out, im here to help!
it depends on the damage but most likely your heads will be fine and you just need to worry about the block and the bottom end but again, id recommend we shop around our area for used engines, it almost always makes sense to replace unless its a rare engine or were chasing big power
