Customer: 2018 Subaru Outback power gate will only go up or down manually. Pressing any of the buttons to open the tailgate does not do anything. There are no beeps or anything. It is difficult to raise and lower the gate without a fair amount of force. I've tried fully raising and lowering the gate to reset it and it did nothing. The latch only locks and unlocks mechanically not power.

Hi, try this to reset it, remove both battery cables ,touch the cables together for a minute or two , place negative terminal on first then positive this should reboot the system to allow you to reset it.Let me know if this helps I will be on this evening
