2010 SUBARU OUTBACK 36R. CODE P1718 = AT CAN COMMUNICATION…

Customer Question
2010 SUBARU OUTBACK 36R...

2010 SUBARU OUTBACK 36R. CODE P1718 = AT CAN COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT. CAN YOU SHED SOME LIGHT ON A FIX PLEASE? ALSO U0073.

Mechanic's Assistant: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?

Correction. Delete "can you shed some light on". Are you able to suggest a likely repair procedure please?

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Outback yourself? What have you tried so far?

Just purchased car, had surging probs within 100kms took back to dealer, they took the car to Subaru tech specialists, car was returned to me within 1 hr all good. Dealership is 100kms away so when I had a failure yesterday I used my code reader to check for faults. Also cheched trans fluid level, temp and colour, all ok. I have reset the codes and car seems ok, However I wish to return the car for repair if this happens again. I also want them to know that I have some knowledge of the problem and possible courses of action so that they do a proper fix. This is a warranty issue. I have an engineering and mechanicing back ground and am 70yrs of young. My aim is not to tell them what to do but to monitor progress if possible. Car cost NZ$12000 and won't accept a faulty vehicle.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Shit mate, ain't that enough? No. that ought to do it. Thanks.
