2005 outback sport-the cigarette lighter has no power--last

Customer Question

2005 outback sport-the cigarette lighter has no power--last week a friend installed a new radio and not sure if it could be related. Fuse changed and no difference
JA: Is the power loss consistent, or does it fluctuate?
Customer: consistent
JA: Are you fixing your Outback yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: basically changed fuse which didn't look fully dead but on its way. also checked connections under where the radio is and nothing appears to be disconnected
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: that is it

Given the location of the cigarette lighter, and that there was some trim that had to come out to install the radio... the trim with the cigarette lighter in it... any chance the connector for the cigarette lighter was left disconnected???
