Hi, I have a 2000 Subaru Outback, 2.5l automatic. When cold, the car turns on and runs fine. When turned off warm, won't start. Changed camshaft sensor and battery. Now I have discovered that when the warm engine runs and I shift into Rear, drive or 123, the engine splutters and turns off. Miraculously , I can now turn on the engine when it has warmed up. Any ideas ?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer! I apologize for the extended wait time you experienced, I've only just come online now and would like to assist you with your question.

There are quite a few things that could be going on, especially considering all the work that was done. The hot restart issue would usually be caused by fuel pressure bleeding off through the pump check valve.

The first step in diagnosing the problem would be to check for fault codes. Have you checked for codes?
Have these problems started as a result of the engine work that was done?
