Customer Question
I have a 2017...

I have a 2017 Outback and the power steering has failed. Is there a fuse or relay that I can check and possible reset/replace?

Mechanic's Assistant: When was the fluid last checked? Have you heard any whining noises while turning the wheel?

I assume there is no PS Fluid since it's electric. Never heard any whining

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Outback yourself? What have you tried so far?

I've tried nothing except searching for a fuse or relay or breaker. This is what I'm looking for

Do you have any warning lights on the dash?

everything is lit up. Eye sight isn't operating and the RED PS failure light is illuminated
Subaru Mechanic: Mauricio, Subaru Mechanic replied 10 months ago

This system is all control by computers , if you have a malfunction, your car still under the warranty , don't take to nobody else beside the dealer, any repair done by other the dealer will void your warranty.

I intend to take it to my dealer. I'm in Houston, and my dealership is under water, so I'm trying to determine if this problem could be a simple fuse or breaker or relay. Do you know?

OK, but this fuse is a good fuse. I checked it with an ohm meter. Any other ideas?
Subaru Mechanic: Mauricio, Subaru Mechanic replied 10 months ago

If you have power to the fuse , we know the relay is also good. Could be a computer failure or P/S motor failure .
