Customer Question

car alarm goes off for no nreason
JA: Have you tried locking and unlocking the driver's side door using the key itself?
Customer: yea, i dont have a remote key
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: 2002 subaru forester
JA: Are you fixing your Forester yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yea it happened tonight. ive tried finding the button under the dashboard that may reset the alarm, but that button is unfindable. i've checked the fuses and removed the horn fuse so it stops making noise i also cant start the car
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: i had a new battery installed 2 days ago

Hi, to try and identify if this is a Subaru system while you were under the dash there would be a black box with a Subaru logo on it, also the connectors would be white or clear, if this system also was upgraded with a shock sensor that would explain the alarm activating. If we can identify this as a Subaru alarm I can help you remove this system if you wish, the starter interlock is also activating probably causing no start.
