My hood won't pop. The cable broke or came loose. Need help getting the hood lock to release. Possible to do through the grill?

Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose).

If the release when pulled does not work even with an assistant lifting or striking the hood above the latch, this meas the latch is jammed or the cable is broken. You can go through the grille with sockets and extensions to get the latch and striker unbolted so you can lift the hood about 6 inches to then free the latch and raise the hood the remainder of the way to fix the hood latch system.
