I have a 1998 Subaru Forester that has a flashing A/T Oil

Customer Question

Hi, I have a 1998 Subaru Forester that has a flashing A/T Oil Temp light. By moving the selector back and forth from 1 to 2 etc., it flashes code 22 - two long flashes followed by 2 short ones. That is the only code it has. Is this easy to repair? There is fluid in the transmission.

Hi my name is ***** ***** I will be happy to assist with this today. In some cases I may need more info to assist better.I apologize for any delay. According to my info on this here this indicates a fault with the harness connection between the ECM and TCM (engine and transmission computer) or a fault with the TCM itself. Some test steps are needed to pinpoint which is the cause here and then from there it can be repaired to correct this fault. Below is the diagnostic testing info. You might check over the wiring leading from the transmission to make sure it is all o.k. to see if anything needs repaired.https://www.dropbox.com/s/7b26j1bngdubvb8/t-05-20.gif?dl=0https://www.dropbox.com/s/a5txh5c6vyz23hd/tc-05-20.gif?dl=0https://www.dropbox.com/s/yjvbjt4zuuwgy95/tcm-05-20.gif?dl=0 If more help is needed, use the reply tab to continue our conversation. If no further assistance is needed, kindly rate my service. You can rate at any time and we can continue to work on your question as this will not close out your question.Keep in mind in some cases it can be difficult to fully diagnose or help repair your vehicle without seeing it and I work on delivering the best possible answer from what I see to work with. Thanks Pete
