Customer Question

Subaru Forester knocking noise from rear under load, possible rear differential problem?

These have many rear differential issues. Was the fluid ever changed and strained to see if there is ant metal particles in the fluid?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I think this is the first time the differential oil has been checked. The vehicle has done 125,000 Km. The oil has a small amount of metal in it but it does not appear excessive for this mileage. There was only a small amount of metal trapped by the magnet.

Ok if there were no large chunks of metal it can be the internal differntial plates failing have you changed the fluid and still have the same issue?
