Customer Question

I have a 2012 Outback, and the rear wiper won't work. The motor goes on with the switch,
but the wiper won't move. This happened after a car wash. They taped the wiper, but it
hasn't worked since then. Any suggestions?

HI there,

This usually means the nut that holds the wiper arm on is not tight enough. If you pop the plastic cover up you should be able to access the nut. I believe it's 10mm, tighten the nut and then retry the wiper. This should solve the issue if the motor is working.

Please give it a try and let me know.

I will try it tomorrow AM. It's too dark out there right now. I will let you know how I make out.Thank you, Susan

Sounds good Susan, I am thinking it's likely the wiper froze to the window after the car was washed. Of course I don't know where you live, but if it's cold and you turned the wiper on, it can actually happen. I also sent you a diagram to help.

Hi Susan,

Thought I would check in and see how you made out with this?
