Own a 2001 Subaru Forester L with 144,000 miles. Own it

Customer Question

Hi! my name is***** a 2001 Subaru Forester L with 144,000 miles. Own it for seven years. Recently have replaced plugs, air filter, gas filter. Starting it has become second nature and always has started right up immediately warm or cold engine. Recently engine won't start on first turn of the key (both warm or cold engine) and requires a second try without extra cranking and fires right up. Other wise runs just fine.

Hi Rob,do you use fuel from the same station or do you tend to buy your fuel as needed, this sounds like a fuel problem, try disconnecting battery for 10 minuets to reset computer parameters, let engine idle for 10 minuets with no loads then 5 minuets with a/c on this will relearn the idle.Depending on what part of the country your in some states have winter blend fuel which will sometimes cause starting problems when temps vary, thanks for your time.
