From what you are saying the cheapist option is a dealer rebuild wich I would assume comes with a 1yr 12k mile warranty. The dealer would use good quality parts. as long as they do a good job it should last for quite a long time past its warranty. The used engine cost more and wont give you a good warranty, So I wouldnt do that. The only positive to using a new shortblock, would be that the robots in japan would be putting that together wich would have less possibility of human error. I think I would go with the Dealer rebuild.
