2008 Subaru outback 2.5 liter. single overhead cam.

Customer Question

2008 Subaru outback 2.5 liter. single overhead cam. Replacing the exhaust manifold. The aftermarket part does not have heat shield on the 2 pipe that mount to the engine. Is that OK? Or do I have to drill out the pop welds and reuse the old heat shields?

Hello, my name is Bobby. Thanks for the question. Typically due to its location it will not hurt anything if you do not install the heat shield. In the long term it is always better to have it there, but not always necessary. You just want to make sure that you do not have any wires hanging close to it. Please let me know if you need more help.
