Greetings Sir or Madam and welcome to JA! I will do my very best to assist you with your problem.
Hi there, can you tell me what you want the car to do or what the car is doing?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
I want to get the car out of the valet mode, inorder to arm the security system.
Expert:  Mike V. replied 6 years ago.
You should be able to accomplish this by closing all doors and locking with the key fob. Hold the lock button down for about 5 seconds. The alarm should start going off at some point. Then unlock the doors and it should be set.
Check the security light blink pattern to see if it has changed. It should flash pretty fast once you lock the car again.

I will go out now and give this a try.

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
It did not work.
Expert:  Mike V. replied 6 years ago.
Well, I will have to open this back up for the other experts.
There may be a problem with the security control module.
Please don't reply or it will lock the question to me and they won't be able to respond with
other ideas.
Sorry

Hello, is this the key fob that you use? graphic

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
No. The one I have has a picture of a door locked on top door unlocked on the bottom. This was a replacement for the one pictured above, about a year or so ago.
Expert:  Kevin C. replied 6 years ago.

Ok a teardrop design, it is the replacement fob.

Did you follow these directions accurately ? (attached text)graphic

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
Yes, these are the instructions I followed. Nothing happens, the light still flashes.
Expert:  Kevin C. replied 6 years ago.
Sounds like the control module has failed, but you can try to do a reset...disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, then reconnect it..then hit a button on the key fob to synchronize, then try the procedure to switch out of valet mode again. If that fails you will need a new security module.
