I used the following assumptions:
1. 13' clear span for bedroom floor joists
2. Live Load = 30 psf, Dead Load = 10 psf
3. Douglas Fir #2 grade lumber
Based on these assumptions, Double 2x6 floor joists spaced at 16" o.c. will work:
Bending Stress is at 82% of allowable
Total Load Deflection is at 98% of allowable
If you have another species of lumber, let me know and I can revise my computer run.
