I was hoping to do only on the ends. Is that possible?
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
basically I'm hoping that under the roof in the middle can be open.
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
you there?
Structural Engineer: StructuralEng, Consultant replied 4 months ago
that is possible. Do you need to have the joists checked with the new loading and shorter span? Do you need to post sized? Do you need the existing posts checked for the increased load? Do you need the footing design?

I'm happy to size the beam only as this question.

I can also do the rest of the checks that I think you would need to, but that would be a premium service. I would have to submit that offer and have you excepted in order to do all the additional checks and footing design

I asked what kind of beam I should use for the middle. Isn't that what I paid for? Can you answer that?
Structural Engineer: StructuralEng, Consultant replied 4 months ago

Yes. I just wanted to be sure you didn't want anything else.
