Building a deck in the colorado mountains. County code says to design for an 70psf snow load and 10psf dead load. What is the maximum span between posts for a 3x2x12 beam given the 80psf load required by the county.
JA: OK. Is there anything else important you think the Structural Engineer should know?
Customer: Joist spacing is 12in. and joist span is 10ft.
