I have built a carport beside a metal building, The carport

Customer Question

Hello, I have built a carport beside a metal building, The carport is 26 x26 and 12' high. It is setting on a concrete pad and four 8" wood post. It has engineered truss on 3 and 12 pitch. and 3 18" LVL's on the load barring sides and 1 18" LVL on the non load barring sides. 7/16 osb and metal roofing. The problem is when I went to take off my temporary bracing I have a lot of sway in the structure. Is there a way to correct this without tying it to the metal building?
JA: OK. Is there anything else the Structural Engineer should be aware of?
Customer: I can go get a picture of the project if needed, and send it to you.
