Customer: looking for beam span.
JA: Is there anything else the Structural Engineer should be aware of?
Customer: 6x6 post with 6x12 beam on top spande at 20 feet. Looking to use 2x8 rafters 1/2" plywood and 15lb roofing. Will the beams load work or is it overkill? Also walls will be constructed with 2x6

6x12s are not even close to working for that span and loading. You need LVL, not dimension lumber.
