A friend wants a 12x2slab. half will be covered by a storage

Customer Question

A friend wants a 12x2slab. half will be covered by a storage shed, half uncovered. The contractor wants to dip the concrete at a 2%
JA: OK. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so we can help you best.
Customer: I'm just wondering if having a dip away from the main structure walls is right or should the slab be perfectly level
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Structural Engineer should know?
Customer: The slab would be in a courtyard next to a structure wall. The concrete contractor wanted to have the slab dip away from the wall rather than flat.

I can help

The portion of the slab that will have the shed on it needs to be level. The uncovered area of slab should be sloped away from your structure to get the water away.
