I have 3 month old Room in Attic trusses. A 14 ft. living

Customer Question

I have 3 month old Room in Attic trusses. A 14 ft. living space in the attic. We originally wanted to put the steps to go up to the attic where the basement steps go down. We have plenty of room. I noticed 2 or 3 bottom chord of the trusses would need to be cut because they go perpendicular with the steps. I need a plan from you to first ask if it is possible to tie them together. I will not be doing the work I will be hiring out. Can you give me a plan to do this.

You can't cut the bottom chord of a truss. If you do, it's not longer a truss.
