I'm coming off an existing structure (concrete) block

Customer Question

I'm coming off an existing structure (concrete) block building and want to add an open covered roof 28 feet out. Can I use doubled up 2X8's 2 feet on center to span the 28 feet. The add on roof (patio) will be Approx. 28' (out) X 20' (Long)
JA: OK. Is there anything else important you think the Structural Engineer should know?
Customer: we will be using 6X6 posted every thing is treated lumber. Posts will be 10' on center
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Structural Engineer about your situation and then connect you two.
