Customer Question

Hi. I am raising half of our kitchen ceiling. This is a one story house with an attic. To support the ceiling joist along with the new raised portion of ceiling I am placing a beam across one half of the room. The ceiling joist that I cut were 12 feet long 2 x 6 redwood and the beam I need to add will support them and span 12 feet. Can I nail three 2 x 12's together?

So the beam will span 12' and support 6' joists on each side?
