Customer Question

I'm building a two story home, with the entire kitchen/dinning area and a small aportion main living space being on the second floor above the garage area. I would like an open space for two full-size cars in the garage area with no center post. the dimensions of the garage will be 36' x 26'. I'll be framing with conventional dimensional Douglas fur. I've been advised to seek advice of a structural engineer about the size and type of steel beam I will need.
Thank you,
