how much weight can I put on a 5 inch slab that was reinforced with 3/8 rebar spaced out 18 inches. Slab was built on existing hard clay.

I think that it is a very heavy machine with four legs on it. I wont know all the details until tomorrow. I am under the impression that the people that who will be installing the machine do not think the slab will be strong enough to support it. There is no gravel under the slab and nothing special was done to the soil. I am going to be asked whether or not I feel like the slab can hold the load and if the answer is no then how could we beef it up.I don't deal with this stuff very often. I sub it out. I will have a concrete guy with me. I just want to be sure that nobody is mislead or gets bad information. Once the machine is in place it would be very expensive to have to move it.

I understand.
I have some questions based on this.
What is the overall size of the machine?
What is the spacing between legs in both directions?
What is the total overall size of the slab?
What is the total weight of the machine?
What is the maximum load on any one leg?
Do you know if the rebar is in the bottom of the slab? Middle or top?
Do you know the compressive strength of the concrete?
I will need to make assumptions about the properties of the subgrade.
Is this an enclosed space?
