We live on a mobile home park in Spain. We have found out that the "owner" does NOT own that land our homes are on. There are three plots of land involved two of which have an embargo and the third has an unpaid debt. Also there is no licence. Can we with old our rent?

Hi there, as you do not know to who you must pay, and may be you could paying a wrong person, you could stop paying until somebody claims, and then, when he claims, you could demand him to probe his rights. Once he does, pay him. If you pay now, you could paying for nothing, or even worse, you could be forced to pay again in future to the right person. So, as you are not sure you pay the right person, just not pay and wait. Even, you could now and in future, to deposit the rent at court for the legal owner you have in your contract. But if is not sure he does exist, the best is to stop paying and wait to be sure you pay the right person. José M spanish atorney
