Honestly, it sounds like you've gotten yourself involved in a complete scam! I mean, what software is needed to convert USD into ZAR. Nothing.

As I understand it, you invested R3k and then upgraded with another R7k, so you are R10k in.

Now they say that you've traded and made a profit of R222k which you want to cash out.

Now they are asking for MORE money so you can get your profits, including money for commission.

Why can't they take their commission from the profits, and then just pay the remaining balance over to you?

The GOLDEN rule in this situation is that whenever an upfront payment of money is requested before you can receive another BIG payment, or before your payment can be "released", you should take extra caution that it is a scam.
We see this happen very often with Crypro investments whereby somebody approaches you and explains that you must invest money with them and they will take the money and invest it in Crypto and then trade the money (on your behalf) in order to get you massive financial returns!
So you invest some money with this guy and before long he has made you a 10x return on your money, or MORE. So you decide that you want to withdraw some of the money (the profits) that you've made with this guy. You send the guy a message asking that you withdraw some money ... but then things start going wrong.
What they will then do is to send you various requests for the payment of money for money transfers, capital gains tax, trading taxes, reserve bank payments, IRS payments, bank charges, and even fees for lawyers / barristers who are going to be drawing up affidavits or court applications on your behalf so that you can get paid.
They will send you (what looks like) documents from some fake institution (pretending to be real), or will send you to a fake internet banking website as "proof" of your money that has been deposited into your account, or they will send you fake invoices which they say need to be paid before the funds are released. It's all fake.
They will tell you that the transfer has gone through, and that you have paid to send the transfer, but will then invent a further charge relating to the receipt of the money, or dealing with Treasury or something like that. The same thing will happen when the bank asks you to pay money in order to unblock the account, or have the account released so they can make the transfer on your behalf.
They may even request that you pay them to complete a sworn affidavit of claim or a fact certificate so that you can issue the documents.
My suggestion is to BREAK OFF ALL FURTHER COMMUNICATION WITH THEM ... YOU ARE ONLY GOING TO LOOSE YOUR MONEY....

These services should never be used with people you only know by email or telephone!

Depending in what information you have given these people, you might indeed be at risk of identity theft. It would be advisable to keep a close look at activity on you bank and credit card accounts and report any unauthorised activity immediately. If you feel up for it, it might be a good idea to change your banking details.

You've been scammed. It is literally that straight forward.

All you invested was R10k and they have tricked you into paying R15k for fees and another R22.9k for commission in order to access "your profit".

You can sue them to get your money back, but if they are based overseas then you'll need to sue them in their country - which could be a very expensive thing to deal with.

You could report them to SAPS, but if they are not based in South Africa, SAPS won't know what to do. They will refer you to the police in that other country.

If they operate from an anonymous Gmail account, or such like, then the reality is that you might never know who they really are.

The bank account into which you made the payment, is probably a hijacked account which doesn't even belong to them. That's if you made an EFT payment. Otherwise, if you used WesternUnion or Bitcoin to make the payment, then they are anonymous.
