No, No, No, you can't let him push you around with the bakkie. I assume that when you bought it, you registered it in your name? If so, then you are the legal owner of the bakkie and it belongs to you, and you can do whatever you want with it.

If you give him the vehicle, you'll NEVER see it again, and YOU will be the person who has to fight about it, and pay the parking / speeding fines, and deal with vehicle licencing, etc. Also, you'll need to insure it, but he will drive it. That is crazy.

From what you've explained above, that you are the owner, you need to sell the bakkie as soon as possible. Get rid of it, settle the financing, and move on with your life.

I don't know WHAT sort of legal steps he can take, claiming ownership of a bakkie which he didn't pay for and which isn't registered in his name. You must tell him to get lost, and that if he comes to your house to try take your bakkie, you'll report him to SAPS.

If he tries anything, you NEED to report it to SAPS as a theft!
