I signed for my car on 18 September 2020. I took delivery on 19 September 2020. It is a 2012 car that I bought through a dealership. The day that I took delivery of the car, I was about 10kms from the dealership when my car started giving me problems. I immediately contacted the salesman and he assured me that the car was ok to drive. I then had the car inspected 20 September 2020 and there were plenty problems discovered. On 21 September 2020, I took the car back to the dealership. Problems with the car were picked up and they "fixed" the car for me. It then just became very problematic and the car was by the dealership most of the time. The car has been problematic since day one and the problems that I have been complaining about constantly are still not fixed. I have a record of everything and have complained further to the F&I manager but nothing came of it. The car is falling apart and I have on numerous occasions told them, since day one what the problems were, however, the initial problems are still not fixed. I have got an extended warranty on the car and the dealership is insisting that I use my warranty to fix the car but the problems that I have brought to their attention are, as stated, problems since day one. I have been quoted R13 000 to fix my car and I find it extremely unfair as these are problems since day one. I cannot take a road trip with the car. We took a road trip in December of 150kms and we did not even make it to our destination. Instead got stuck on the side of the road for 5 hours with petrified children while waiting for help. I have been in contact with the salesman again and he wants me to take the car through my warranty, but I dont feel that this is fair, seeing as though these are problems since the beginning. I just, PLEASE, need to know what my rights are. If they are entitled to fix my car or if I have to go through my warranty. If I go through my warranty, I am going to exhaust the funds that I have, making it difficult to claim again if the same problem happens in a year or so. :( … read more

My name is***** made an cash purchase for Vehicle at Wheel4U in Robertson. I purchased the vehicle less than a month ago. I were told by the dealer to take the vehicle for Roadworthy test due to the fact that I wanted the vehicle on the date i Purchased the car. I took the vehicle to roadworthy center close to my home , only to find out that it fail due to the handbrake and that they are unable to see the engine number. I took the vehicle to one of our mechanics and he pick up a few error on the vehicle. He told me that the vehicle is using way to many water as on the day I fix the handbrake. I contacted the dealer and advised him of the error and that the vehicle failed. He ask me to bring the vehicle so that they can have a look at it and see what they can do. So I drove the vehicle to them and the explained to the owner of the dealership what the problem was. He than give me a vehicle to use which was not convenient however, I took the vehicle as i had no options. I live nearly 150km away from the dealer. I was told that the vehicle will be ready by Monday 09 September. I contacted the dealer/saleperson On Friday 6 September and he advised me that the thermostat need to be replace and that the vehicle will be ready for collection on Monday 9th September. On Monday I message the dealer and no reply. I told him that I will collect the vehicle on Tuesday 10th September as this is the only off day i can get from work. I drove from Heidelberg WC to Robertson with the vehicle they give me to use. I contacted the salesperson and he told me that the vehicle is nearly done and still need to go for roadworthy. I told him I am willing to wait for the vehicle as i need to get back to my comfortableness. As i drove received a call from the salesperson saying that. The place where my car was kept advised that the radiator needs to be replaced and this will take a few days. At this point i was livid as I am few meters away from the dealership. I told the dealer that I cannot accept this as everytime its a different story. He agreed to me meet at the dealership Wheels4U. So i told him that the vehicle they gave me is not comfortable that i got backache while drive nearly 150km and they want me to drive back and come back a few days again. He contacted the owner and he advised that the do not have any vehicles on the floor which the can give for me to use, while i can see there is more than enough vehicle. I completely lost and told the dealer to tell the owner he can keep the vehicle and I demand my money by close of business 10.09.2019. I had to contact family members to arrange transport back as I refuse to use that temporary vehicle the give me. I still haven't receive any communication from them nor has my money been paid into my account. I told the dealer that i will be taken the next step and he said he advised the owner and the owner said" i will than have to make contact with the ombuds as they are busy fixing my car.
