My husband had a 3 month relationship, many years before we
My husband had a 3 month relationship, many years before we met, which ended in a parting of the ways. A month later she came back announcing her pregnancy. They went through legal wrangling as he did not wish to have a child with her as he already has two sons that he has full custody of. In the end his legal advice stipulated that his only recourse was renouncing all legal rights to the child which in good faith he said he couldn't do. He has since birth paid all medical, schooling, extra mural and additional money to keep the child. When I first met my husband to be he had not seen the child in over a year as she had decided he was an unfit Father. After some months she arrived at my husband's company with the child and there was a renewal of interest in allowing him visitation rights but only at her home. This continued for some time which of course he adhered to with intent to establish a relationship with the child. We separated for a 9 month period where the Mother made advances to my husband again and he rejected her. Once again she used the child as ammunition and stopped him from seeing her. This has been an ongoing battle. We were married in June 2015 and as I had never met the child but was aware of the 'habits' of the Mother, i opted not to have any part in the child's life. My husband now picks her up from school on a Thursday afternoon and drops her home in the evening. I have to date not met her. My husband has been quite emphatic about not letting the girl stay over as we have two sons. He had been warned previously by legal counsel that her next recourse may be to concoct a sexual harassment case against him or one of the boys (she did this with another boyfriend's child) and rather to err on the side of caution and deliver the child back to her Mother after visitation. The Mother, who has been quiet for a period of time is now insisting out of the blue that the child stays the night and it is my husband's legal responsibility that she is allowed to. In short - is this the case? … read more
