this is Emile mostert I have finance a car through a dealership. Which the car is only giving me problems . It falls in its warranty . I have only done 4000km with the car . According to Ford the motor damaged due to the injectors over fueling and burn a whole in the piston. I sent the ECU to a dealer in Johannesburg to investigate why it's over fueling. Software has been upgraded to maximum level . Which the motor could not handle . I brought the car like this according to the software people they were suppose to clear the software and put it back to standard before selling the car to me. Ford has said they need. To put in a new motor which is going to coast 115k . What am I to do ? I've been without a car for 2 weeks now . And on holiday which the car broke down far from home . And cost a lot of money for me to get home with the car . When I contacted the dealership and told them what has happened they didn't show any interest of helping with the car damages. I signed for my car on 18 September 2020. I took delivery on 19 September 2020. It is a 2012 car that I bought through a dealership. The day that I took delivery of the car, I was about 10kms from the dealership when my car started giving me problems. I immediately contacted the salesman and he assured me that the car was ok to drive. I then had the car inspected 20 September 2020 and there were plenty problems discovered. On 21 September 2020, I took the car back to the dealership. Problems with the car were picked up and they "fixed" the car for me. It then just became very problematic and the car was by the dealership most of the time. The car has been problematic since day one and the problems that I have been complaining about constantly are still not fixed. I have a record of everything and have complained further to the F&I manager but nothing came of it. The car is falling apart and I have on numerous occasions told them, since day one what the problems were, however, the initial problems are still not fixed. I have got an extended warranty on the car and the dealership is insisting that I use my warranty to fix the car but the problems that I have brought to their attention are, as stated, problems since day one. I have been quoted R13 000 to fix my car and I find it extremely unfair as these are problems since day one. I cannot take a road trip with the car. We took a road trip in December of 150kms and we did not even make it to our destination. Instead got stuck on the side of the road for 5 hours with petrified children while waiting for help. I have been in contact with the salesman again and he wants me to take the car through my warranty, but I dont feel that this is fair, seeing as though these are problems since the beginning. I just, PLEASE, need to know what my rights are. If they are entitled to fix my car or if I have to go through my warranty. If I go through my warranty, I am going to exhaust the funds that I have, making it difficult to claim again if the same problem happens in a year or so. :( … read more
