You sent me a load of helpful information.I have now received the screenshot of one of the calls, and the so called targeted employee was have in brackets after his name (guest).Does this flag anything for you?Is it possible they were moved to the group "guest" as you have previously suggested. Or have they logged in incorrectly.Please assume this is a standard large corporate MS Teams account and all employees receive a recurring invitation for this call. They all log in as usual via the invitation in outlook and the they enter via the app or browser. They then enter name and then they are in.Regards

Is that a feasibility? thanks

This is Dustin and we spoke about this issue previously. Can you confirm the approximate time frame, Day / Month / Year that the "employee" ran into this issue with their login being put in the Guest group?

Hello Dustin, between 18 November 2020 and 31 December 2020.When he logged in via the work link provided, it would tak him to a page that states enter name: and then he would log in quite easily without entering password *****the company operates a one sign in process when logging into windows.Thanks

OK. The time frame does obscure the issue some. Background changing for guest users wasn't fully rolled out and implemented successfully until Q3 20201.

Now, with that being said, there is still the question of, was that user moved to the guest group by an administrator, or did they have a sign in issue with their computer.

And truthfully, the answer could be both. It could have been user error, or even, program or software errors.

But, it just as easily could have been their login being assigned to a guest group by an admin.

And I did mention previously when I suggested using the Audit feature to find out exactly what happened, to check and see if the user account was moved to or from any groups within the organization around the time of the incident.

Its the only way to know for sure.

I am very much aligned with you. Putting the 2021 rollout issue aside for a second, I must state that the background scenario was fully functional within our organisation during those dates.Following the IT refusal, I escalated it to very senior managers. Since then the have gone from "it's not possible to do it" to "we will do a full check". I await their response.I am fully aligned with you that it could be either or, but the audit will tell all. I just find it odd that of all the 9 or so people on the regular weekly call just one of them was having this guest issue.will keep you posted! thank you

I find it odd as well. But the question remains, was it "odd" because of an issue with their computer, software or the way they were signing in.

Or, was it due to someone moving their user account to the guest group, so that they could not access those features.

Whether auditing was turned on or not, is the question. It should have been on by default.
