i have a MAGIC HDTVI...
i have a MAGIC HDTVI DVR. I mistakenly upgraded the firmware with SDI firmware. I have tried to upgrade with the proper TVI firmware but I get checksum mismatch error and install fails. How can I reflash the DVR for TVI use?

If you are able to access the system information page of the DVR, can you please check the firmware version and make sure it is the one you tried to upgrade or the old one?

To be clear the link I gave is the SDI firmware. The SDI Firmware on the DVR is version 2.0.2.4

this is the TVI firmware I tried to use.

According to the version you have that's the right firmware for TVI. Though its uploaded it was giving you checksum error.

If you wish we can re flash the firmware but before that I would recommend you to try resetting the DVR to factory settings but that could erase all your settings,passwords that you currently have now.

not right now. lets do a reset to the DVR and see what happens..
Before that I like to confirm this. how many cameras you have right now and are you facing this issue on all the cameras ?

Alright.. Please do reset to the DVR.. First you need to open the main menu -> settings / setup -> system / advance -> reset

Default - just says "Are you sure". Click on OK and nothing happens

Alright. Most of the DVRs will reboot after a reset. Lets wait for few seconds.

I did but I moved the DVR to be near my PC. And then I have moved the DVR it to be near an Ethernet connection as I only have 1 that my PC uses.

I can add a monitor to the DVR where it is now but that is in a different room so I would not have access to this dialog.

Can you please once unplug all the cameras from the power source and plug int back in. And also please check the light status like if there are any light changes happening when you do that.

As I said I have moved the DVR and the cameras are unplugged. I think the video issue is related to the fact that SDI is now the firmware whereas the cameras are TVI only as was the DVR firmware originally.
I can do what you asked if it is the only next step, it will take 5 minutes or so.

I understand that before we proceed I just wanted to make sure that all the camera's microphone are like kind of refreshed and checking whether if that's responding properly since that could also cause problem some cases.

sound is there. There is a different wire for the video feed from sound so it makes sense that the SDI video codec or whatever is the problem versus a TVI video.

Chrome for this dialog but I use IE for the CMS connection as it requires a CMS plugin

Not sure what you mean, use IE. The Chrome browser I am using now is not connected to the DVR in any way.

It is not a browser issue as I can see the same information about the DVR when the DVR is connected to a TV or Monitor.All I am asking for is how to remove/over write the SDI firmware on the DVR with TVI firmware.
