I am having trouble connecting to the Internet thru Mozilla Firefox and when I do finally get connected, not only is my homepage (Google) loaded but a second page is loaded as well asking me to make Google my homepage! I just want that second page to stop loading and find out why I am having such a problem getting on the net...What will that cost me?

Hello,

If you still can't access Mozilla or IE please restore your windows XP by following the steps below :

  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts.

  2. On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.

  3. On the Select a Restore Point page, click the most recent system checkpoint in the On this list, click a restore point list, and then click Next. A System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make. Click OK.

  4. On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and then restarts the computer.

  5. Log on to the computer as Administrator. The System Restore Restoration Complete page appears.

  6. Click OK.

It says there are currently no restore points available. I also find it very disengenious that you rated your service to me as a five star. I certainly didn't even have the opportunity to rate you as you left me last nite without so much as a goodbye. My screen went blank when you logged out of TeamViewer and my computer completely shut down. This morning I experienced the exact same problem as I have been and am having to respond to this suggestion by you using my cell phone. Thus far I've gotten no service from you, much less the 5 stars that you gave yourself on my behalf.

Can you run teamviewer and send me your ID and password *****?

Sir, I have to assume that because you are writing in English that you understand it. My problem remains the same. I AM UNABLE TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET! It is only by chance when I have the opportunity to sit for hours and try connecting over and over that it will suddenly connect. It could be in the next minute or tomorrow before I can get back on. I never know and you left me hanging last night without me having the chance to question you as to what I could do if the problem persisted. Again, I am using my cell phone to communicate this message as I cannot connect my PC now.

When I logged into your computer (While you watching), I only deleted the cache, cookies and temporary files, and I added the adblock plugin to your Firefox browser, you may did something wrong, that's why you get a white screen, Please try the following steps :

  • Click on start, Go to Control Panel > Network Connections and select your local network.
  • Click Properties, then select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
  • Click Properties.
  • Select "Obtain DNS server address automatically"
  • Restart and check

Sir, You're not dealing with a kid here. I'm 60 years old and did absolutely nothing except turn my computer back on when it went blank when you abruptly left me hanging! I'm following your instructions right now and if all you say you did was clear my cache and cookies, then that, perhaps, is the reason my computer is still not working correctly! YOU DIDN'T CORRECT THE PROBLEM and bailed before I could discuss it with you.

I have followed your instructions and am now writing to you via my PC. Do you still want to do the TeamViewer and see why I continue to have this problem? I would simply ask that instead of just leaving when you are thru to allow me to ask a question if necessary and then allow me to rate your services rather than you doing it for me...

The solution to your problem was clearing cache, cookies and temporary files. Rating is done automatically when you accept the remote session.
