Is the keyboard external or built in to a laptop?

To get started, I need to know what type of computer you are using, a Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 ?

When did this start?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Computer is an all-in-one desktop computer. Using Windows 10. Started about 10 days ago. Ran hardware diagnostics, switched keyboards. It started when both the mouse and keyboard were not recognized. Switched to a new mouse and keyboard. Mouse is working; however, the keyboard still will not accept input.
