Message from McAfee yesterday told me my computer was at risk and I had to purchase a 2 year subscription for it to be fixed. This new subscription starts 10th Jan 2019 and expires 10th Jan 2021! As my current subscription is valid until August this year I am at a loss to understand why it was necessary to purchase this, particularly in view of the dates. Please explain.
JA: Just to clarify, what's the make and model of your machine, and what operating system are you running?
Customer: My machine is a Dell and I don't know the operating system as my sons set it up for me.
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: Not to my knowledge,
