JA: What kind of computer do you have?
Customer: Desk top using Windows 10
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: Yes..........when attempting to load software I am told the serial number is *****
JA: Anything else you want the software expert to know before I connect you?

Is your serial number 24 characters long, not counting the hyphens?

Also, i assume you are not entering the hyphens when you type it in , correct?

if both of the above are true.. Lets try a repair, and if this doesnt work we will try more as needed.

First, close the Elements installer if its open, or the elements program. Then,

Delete the Adobe PCD folder and caps.db file from the following locations:


  • \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD
  • \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\caps\caps.db

Then, start adobe elements again and try to enter your serial number.. Will it take it now?
