How do I fix this problem with my Windows powershell 5: Cannot load psreadline module. Console is running without psreadline.

indicates that, if you are running on Windows 10 x32 (32-bit edition), you may need to install the PSREADLINE.exe program into the


directory first.

Go to the directory that Powershell is installed in, using e.g. Windows Explorer.

Then go to the Modules sub-directory of that directory.

Is the file


present there?

There's a psreadline folder. But I don't see the execute file

Then it isn't installed properly. Put the PSReadline file into the Modules subdirectory.

(No EXE file by that name? what files are there by that name, in the PSReadline folder?)
