Are you trying to move a file or project created on PC to a mac version of elements?

Or, are you trying to reinstall elements 13 onto a mac?

I am moving my catalog and pictures from PC to Mac. I have Elements 13 installed on each.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Are you still there?

Understood. If you want the keywords and captions to move with the rest of the catalog.

On the pc, perform this command.

File > Write Tag Info To Files

Once thats done. We can use the backup and restore function to move the files onto your mac.

Make a full backup of your catalog to a USB flash drive or external drive. ( you cant use a cd, as your mac version of photoshop wont read it properly)

Then, restore the backup you made on windows, to the mac version of photoshop.

That will do it!

I strive to provide great service, and greatly appreciate a rating of excellent ( 5 stars ) selected and submitted below this answer or at the top right of the screen. I always answer follow up questions.

I will try this tonight. It did not work last night. I will advise. Thanks
Expert:  Dustin replied 2 years ago.

Did you do it in the same manner I instructed.

backing up to an external drive.. Full backup, not incremental.

And then loading the backup directly into elements on the mac?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
For some reason the Mac was stuck on what it said "Fetching" the file.

PS. I can not find "File > Write Tag Info To Files"
Expert:  Dustin replied 2 years ago.

Understood..

What may help is, when you are on windows and you are making the backup from within elements.

Make sure that your antivirus and firewall are off. And on the mac.

Make sure that you only have the elements organizer open when you are importing the file. Also for good measure, run this repair on the mac first

Open your finder ( magnifying glass ) type in disk utility, and launch the disk utility application.

On the left side of the disk utility window, click your mac hd, then at the lower right hand side, click repair permissions .

With those steps taken, you shouldnt run into any issues.
