Attunity 2.0 to work

Customer Question

I am having trouble getting Attunity 2.0 for Teradata to work with MS SQL Server 2012 client with 64 bit and windows 7. The error I am generating is an "slopen" error. This means that it couldn't open a file, but which one and how do I fix it? The error details are below:

Error on debug of SSIS package

Teradata Destination [408]] Error: TPT Import error encountered during Initiate phase. slopen error:

The specified module could not be found. [SSIS.Pipeline] Error: Teradata Destination failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0x80004005.

I have set-up an SSIS package with Attunity 1.2 on SQL Server 2008- so the package should be fine. When I click on test connection, it says connection successful.

My list of software that I have installed on the computer is listed below. It appears, I could be mistaken, having something to do with the software installed on the laptop. Some software may have the wrong path or version. I would appreciate if someone could walk me through on fixing this and not just provide me with web links

Hello,
I am Pete, and I'll be happy to assist with your question today.
Rather than an inaccessible file, it appears that some TPT Operators are not installed. To work with the Tearada Connector you need to install the following TPT Operators in addition to the TPT API:
TPT Load Operator
TPT Stream Operator
TPT Export Operator
Once installed, restart the machine and try again.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Thanks for your time. What you said, applies to attunity versions 1.x

In Attunity 2.0, the following are needed for TPT:

Teradata Parallel Transporter API Software and Dependencies

1. Teradata International Components for Unicode (Teradata ICU)

2. Teradata Generic Security Services (TeraGSS)

3. Teradata Call Level Interface Version 2 (Teradata CLIv2)

4. Teradata Parallel Transporter Base

5. Teradata Parallel Transporter Stream

This is listed in the documentation available at:

http://www.teradata.com/Resources/White-Papers/Microsoft-SQL-Server-2012-Integration-Services-and-Teradata-Connectors/

It's on page 10 On page 10 of the pdf download from that web page. I truly hope you can help me with this and look forward to your reply. I have spent almost a week on this.

Hi Rick,
You are of course correct.
I still believe that one or more operators are either not installed correctly or are not running though, preventing you from accessing the file.
I assume you have rebooted the system a few times since attempting the setup?...
Next, check in Event Viewer for any related error messages or warnings.
Also check what services are running - ensure none of the required services are stopped or set to manual startup.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I have re-started the computer a few times. No other service is running this. I uninstalled and re-installed the software- now I am getting a slightly different error.

I really think this has to do with the software not being installed in the right place or registry entries- especially with more details of the error now. This is known to happen with some Teradata installs. How do i check/fix these things?

Below is the error and all Teradata software installed:

Hi Rick,
This error does appear to indicate that the installation is corrupted or bad.
If the software is not installed in the right place or registry entries are incorrect then the best solution is to uninstall and reinstall the software - to try fixing the problem at registry level would be very intensive and may only cause further more serious issues.
I assume you are using an administrator account with full administrative rights enabled...? You could also try using a different user account that also has full administrative rights to check if the software runs or installs ok there..
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the software before the last post. The entire computer is new before I installed any software. Yes, I have been given full administrative rights till Monday. So I need to get it fixed by then. Other then the registry entries, maybe a path was installed bad.

The software I mentioned is available for free for individuals. If you are willing, I could raise the price of this question and you can try to install the software to try to find the problem

If this works, just let know how much should I raise the question.

If this doesn't work, please note that I remember reading about this problem (bad directory install or something related to it) before online with Teradata. I don't know how to fix it though. You could research it online. The software is only one suite called TTU (Teradata Tools & Utilities available at:

http://downloads.teradata.com/download/tools/teradata-tools-and-utilities-windows-installation-package

Thanks again!

Ok, I will do a bit of work and research on this and let you know how I get on;
how much time do you have left to get it resolved?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I can get admin access to the computer for as long as needed. Anything you can do to help is appreciated.

Hi Rick,
I will also open this question up to the other experts to see if they have any input...
