Filling out medicare application. Sorry. hit wrong button.
filling out medicare enrollment form. I have group medical coverage through my union, Local 367 Plumbers and Pipefitters in Anchorage, AK. Currently, my coverage will not expire till end of June, 2021. However, my recent employment of over a year ended just ten days ago. On the medicare enrollment form where it asks if I'm in a group plan already, I said YES. It then asks for employment start and end dates, and then medical coverage start and end dates. The only way I see to indicate I have current union medical coverage for the next 6 months is to indicate I am still employed, which I am not, until my union calls me with a new job referral. Why won't the application accept that I'm newly unemployed but still have 6 months medical insurance in effect?… read more

I had visited my town's council on aging to learn of the Part B options that I can select from. At that meeting, I mentioned that when I did an on-line calculator of monthly premiums, it was assessing me a late fee penalty because I didn't sign up early. I was in fact fully employed and didn't have intentions of tapping into SSA until age 70. However I was laid off in April. … read more
